I’ve been lost. Lost in time, lost in a world that is rushing by me. Time ever flows and I feel like I am just hanging tight for the ride down the rapids.
We’ve had many changes since the last time I have posted in 2016. Two years have gone by! We’ve experienced death in the family, changes in style of homeschooling, we’ve had many moments of joy and many moments of sadness.
Change can be hard. And it can also be very good. I’d say it’s been a little of both for us.
One of the biggest changes we’ve had is my style of schooling the girls. We’re far less rigid and structured. We’re more into immersing ourselves into books, into our world, into ourselves and the things that bring us joy.
The key is finding the joy. Amidst all the turmoil and topsy turvy things we’ve encountered, finding the joy was key.
One of the things that has brought great joy is the ability to immerse ourselves in wonderful books! And thanks to Emily Cook’s Build Your Library curriculum, we’ve been able to school through living books. I highly recommend you check it out if books are your thing!
We’re all avid readers here and I am so happy to see my girls listening to an audio book or reading a book before falling asleep.
My girls have done a lot of growing up in the last two years. The twins are not so little anymore but they will always be my little ones. And my oldest? She’s a high schooler. In fact, completed her freshman year just a couple of days ago. On to her Sophomore year! Adventure awaits her.
There are a lot of things we do differently in homeschooling and I’ll go more into that another time.
For now, I just wanted to say I am back! I hope to update more often. Change is hard, so bare with me as I start journaling our continued journey in homeschooling.
